-       Stand up slowly, one foot at a time, and keep your feet level with the stringer - approximately shoulder width apart - in the centre of the board. Maintain a tiny bend in your knees and keep your core centered over the board.

-       Keep in mind that you may fall off; if so, climb back up and attempt again. We recommend putting on a thin wetsuit.

Keep in mind that compared to the common newbie surfboard errors, many people begin on a board that is far too small, which makes it a struggle to gain balance. When that happens, people become discouraged.
